6.5. "Imaminoka"

With reference to your letter of the 22xd. November,

1916, addressed to the Attorney General, I have the honour to

inform you that when the proposed alterations in the articles have

been made I shall be prepared provisionally to recognize you as

entitled to take a transfer of a British ship and as no longer

being a foreign controlled company within the meaning of The

British Ships (Transfer Restriction) Act, 1916. The recognition

may be withdrawn at any time.

This provisional recognition will be accorded only

for the purpose of granting olearances here to the 6.5. "Immaniroka"

in order to enable the ship to trade pending the reference of the

matter to His Majesty's Government,

It must be clearly understood that this provisional

recognition will not bind the Crown in any way whatsoever, and

that this letter is not to be taken as any admission, sither on

ny part or on the part of the Crown, that you are entitled to such

recognition, or that the 8.8. "Inuaminoka" will have been validly

transferred to you, or that the 6.5. *Inraminoka" is not or will

not be able liable to forfeiture. It is only on these terms that

the provisional recognition referred to will be granted.
